Bret Banks is the Executive Director for the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District. In this capacity, Bret has primary responsibility for overseeing the AVAQMD’s day-to-day operations, including its permit, compliance, and regulatory development programs.

Bret has lived in the Antelope Valley for over 50 years and has been involved in the Antelope Valley community through leadership roles in many influential community organizations including the West Antelope Valley Education Foundation, Antelope Valley College Foundation, Antelope Valley Partners for Health, Antelope Valley Board of Trade and the Antelope Valley Economic Development and Growth Enterprise. Bret has also been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by Antelope Valley College. He is married to his wife, Suzanne for over 40 years and they have two adult children and six grandchildren.
