Julie Swayze-Bowie was born and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Business Administration. She has had a fascination with military jets starting at a very young age. Julie joined the Edwards AFB Civ/Mil group in the fall of 2008. She has always been a huge supporter of the military, having a father who fought in WWII as a combat soldier with the legendary 92^nd battalion of Buffalo soldiers in Northern Italy. Her grandfather fought in WWI and her great-great-grandfather fought in the Civil War.

Julie is also past member of the Board of Directors as well as an Officer, having been elected in 2012 and serving until 2017.

She has worked in a variety of small and large businesses and nonprofit organizations. Currently she is the Capital Campaign and Planned Giving manager for Foothill Unity Center. The Center is mainly a food pantry but also helps clients with health, social needs and job development. Foothill Unity Center’s clients are those in the San Gabriel Valley who live below the poverty level. To date Julie has raised $6 million of the Center’s $6.2 million dollar goal.

Julie’s hobbies include reading, writing, swimming and recording her podcast, ‘The Secret of Hamon Ra.’ She lives with her husband, a retired Northrop Grumman software engineer and three cats (please don’t judge) in Pasadena. Now that her life has slowed down a bit, she would like to once again serve the men and women who protect our freedom.
