Matthew Winheim is a dedicated STEM educational leader, Air Forceveteran, and 2025 California State Teacher of the Year. With a Master’sDegree in Mathematics Education, Mr. Winheim has a passion forpromoting innovation in the classroom and beyond. His expertise spansover 20 years in public education. He has deep experience incurriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development. Mr.Winheim has years of first-hand experience equipping educators withtools and strategies needed to inspire students in science, technology,engineering, and mathematics.

Outside the classroom, Matthew is a private pilot and all-around aviationenthusiast. He serves as president of the Edwards Air Force BaseCivilian-Military Support Group, a local nonprofit 501(c)3 that supportsthis community’s active-duty military personnel. His commitment to botheducation and service reflects a deep dedication to empowering others,whether through strengthening STEM learning or contributing to thewell-being of those who serve. Mr. Winheim remains a passionateadvocate for combining education, leadership, and community outreachto make a lasting impact.
