Rhonda Nelson Mays was born in California and raised in the Antelope Valley. Ms. Nelson-Mays is very passionate about supporting the military and Edwards Air Force Base, which has a very special place in her heart. Not only did she work on base for many years, her twin daughters were born at the base hospital. She is married to Harold Mays Jr., a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. As a military dependent she continues to enjoy visiting military bases when she is traveling domestically and abroad.

She graduated from Antelope Valley College with an Associate degree, then continued her education at the University of LaVerne where she received her Masters of Business Administration. She has spent over 35 years working in the aerospace industry, and recently retired from the Northrop Grumman Corporation located at Air Force Plant 42 as a Director of Production Operations Integration/Communications. Ms. Nelson-Mays has also enjoyed supporting her community as civic affairs representative.

Currently she is a member of the Board of Directors; serving as the Aida O’Connor Scholarship chair and as an Executive committee member. She has also served as Vice President for two terms, and additionally she has received the “Member of the Year” award. Ms. Nelson-Mays has supported numerous committees throughout her 10+ years as a member of the Board of Directors.

As a two year plus resident of Las Vegas, she also is a member of the Nellis Air Force Base Military Affairs Committee. She continues to support EAFB Civ -Mil through in person and electronic means. She is planning on having a second residence again in Southern California soon.

Her hobbies include supporting the military, traveling (she just returned from a cruise around the world), fishing, golfing, and visiting family and friends.
